Great review from talented Jakki who did the photo-documentary of the Campanula Medium Workshop.
The Venue was perfect, being held at Dear Doris in Penarth, a quaint little gift shop but with enough space for us comfortably to run the workshop.
The main table was beautifully laid out with a selection of wonderful paper flowers showing the end results. I must be honest I took one look and did think "mine will never look that good".
Certainly, from a distance you'd be hard-pressed to know they weren't fresh flowers.
Eva had thought of everything and set a place for each attendee with a little envelope containing all the relevant templates we would need for the evening. I thought this was a very thoughtful touch because it meant when we went home we could give it a try and make more and I certainly am going to be doing that very soon when my niece and nephew start their school holidays.
Eva provided a selection of coloured crepe papers and she was very clear with her instructions explaining for example that Italian crepe paper is a much better quality and slightly stronger and therefore helps when forming the flower shapes required.
Throughout the evening we all laughed at our attempts to follow what Eva made look so effortless. Being such a great teacher, we were all able to recreate the beautiful flowers by the end of the session.
We all said that we are looking forward to the next workshop and hoped it will be to show us how to make the lovely sweet peas that Eva had on the table alongside a vase of fresh ones.
Thank you, Eva, for a fabulous, fun evening that has resulted in me having a new skill. I can't recommend the Paper Flower Workshop enough.
